The risk of wildfire is high in parts of the County and Minden Hills is no exception.
All burn permits that have been issued in the township are suspended immediately and new permits will not be issued until further notice.
Burn Permits are required to burn approved materials between the hours of 7am and 7pm, from April until the end of October.
Minden Hills also ask ATV operators to stay on developed trails, frequently stopping to check areas around the engine and exhaust for debris, and carefully dispose of any debris caught in equipment.
Minden Hills Fire Department says ATV operators should carry a small shovel, axe and fire extinguisher at all times. The fire department will continue to monitor the fire hazard and post updates, as required.
