NewsLong awaited bridge replacements get funded SHARE ON: Sue Black, staff Monday, Jun. 22nd, 2020 Mayor Dave Burton and MPP Laurie Scott on the South Wilberforce Bridge (photo taken by Phil McCabe, MyHaliburtonNow.com staff)MPP Laurie Scott announced the approval of federal funding for “long awaited” infrastructure projects in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes and Brock.Over $2.5 million, from all three levels of government will be invested in projects in the county.The South Wilberforce Bridge Replacement project in Highlands East will receive an investment of over $1.4 million and the Sedgwick Bridge Replacement project in Minden will receive over $1.1 million.MPP Scott says “these projects will provide much needed job creation helping our community recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”Local MP Jamie Schmale said “infrastructure investments help with long term sustainable economic growth in our municipalities, and will improve the lives of residents and visitors to the area”.
