In June, Director of Public Works Travis Wilson presented options for moving forward with the payment options, in an effort to resume normal waste receiving operations. In the report it was recommended that the practice of handling cash be temporarily ceased in an effort to protect the public and staff from disease transmission, but the motion was defeated. At Minden’s June 25 meetiing council resolved to reconsider the report. Changes made propose the use of the same technology for digital payments, but exact amounts owed in cash, will also be accepted. Staff recommend that this be available at all sites until October 31.
