Dysart Rec Coordinator applies for Kraft Hockeyville, hopes for the win

Andrea Mueller is hoping Haliburton is successful when they apply for Kraft Hockeyville again this year. She’s Recreation Coordinator in Dysart and she says they’ll be submitting an application as soon as it’s open on January 1. The winner of the CBC competition will win 100 thousand dollars for arena upgrades, a Hockey Night in Canada broadcast in the community, and an NHL pre-season game hosted in the arena. Mueller says they’ll be doing more to promote voting, starting with a Hockeyville booth set up at The Frost Festival on February 14. Last year, Mueller says they applied with only three days left to vote and still made it to the first round as one of the top eight picks in East. They’re hoping to make into at least the top four where those finalists will receive 25 thousand dollars towards arena upgrades.
