NewsAlgonquin Highlands will keep recreational facilities closed for now SHARE ON: Sue Black, staff Monday, Aug. 10th, 2020 The tower and recreational facilities in Algonquin Highlands are closed until further notice (Doug Crosse Photo)All recreation facilities in Algonquin Highlands remain closed until further notice.The township’s Emergency Control Group met last week to review the restrictions on the Dorset Recreation Centre, Stanhope Firefighters Community Hall and Oxtongue Community Centre.The decision was based on “staffing, logistics, resources and most importantly, the safety of employees and the public in keeping with public health recommendations”.The Dorset Scenic Tower Lookout will remain closed for the 2020 season.
