In a special meeting of council Monday, in response to a directive in their July 10 meeting, Planning Director Sean O’Callaghan presented preliminary information and the approximate number of short term rentals currently operating in the Township. Public opinion was also sought on Algonquin Highland’s website. Council agreed that more public input is needed before moving forward with what could be a costly venture for the township. Staff were directed to compile a list of questions for a public survey, and bring them back to council for approval.
