Minden man affiliated with BC stock case has a history with RCMP

More details about a Minden resident are coming to light after he was sanctioned in a false stock promotion case in BC. Erwin Speckert owns a property on Bob Lake in Minden and according to a Globe and Mail article, he was the person who hired and promoted a man charged with writing false stock reports.

Speckert’s history shows that back in 2013, the RCMP had charged him with possession of proceeds of crime which police believed was associated with illegal gaming in Ontario. The charge came after a year long RCMP investigation that began when he was found with $1.3 million in cash inside a backpack in a Winnipeg bus terminal.

This week it was learned the BC Securities Commission has banned Speckert from being a stock promoter, manager or consultant, among other things for five years.
