Recreation Coordinator talks about the community role in Kraft Hockeyville contest

Haliburton County has a lot of hockey pride, which is why Haliburton submitted a nomination into Kraft Hockeyville, and now Minden could be doing the same. Dysart’s Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Mueller explains how people can help at this stage in the competition.

There are a few stages in the contest, so Andrea explains how it would move forward.

Minden’s Director of Community Services, Mark Coleman says they’re looking into an application for the SG Nesbitt Arena. For Haliburton, Mueller says they would upgrade the heating system at the AJ La Rue Arena, buy a new Zamboni, better dehumidification and make the upstairs more accessible. Their application says they would also use the funds to help develop the hall of fame.

Mueller says people can support the nominations by posting stories, comments and photos to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #khv_haliburton
