Minden Hills is set to release details about their plans for the Pan Am Torch Relay in the next month, but they’re still accepting nominations for someone to carry the torch. Minden Hills has been named a celebration community, and early discussions said part of their plan is to have the torch brought through the town by land and water. Director of Community Services has previously told council they were one of the only communities involved that were planning special events around the relay that highlight the township’s history and heritage. Anyone 13 and over can carry the torch, but nominations have to be in by January 23.
