Highlands East council has agreed to lease the government dock in Wilberforce so they could get some funding for replacement. After staff did a site visit with the Division of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) Canada, they decided the dock and walking ramp needed to be replaced. Leasing the dock was the best option because that meant DFO would fund the replacement, and the municipality would only have to pay for the installation. They voted to sign the lease at 500 dollars a year for five years.
