It’s not a typical year for Haliburton County with a lot of budget pressures. That’s what the county’s treasurer was explaining at yesterday’s committee meetings. She says the county is facing an increase of nine per cent compared to last year and a lot of the increases are out of their control. She says the only thing they can control is the money that goes into roads, but based on staff reports, a few bridges are at a must need replacement status. Councilors are getting a full overview of the budget to discuss at their next meeting on January 28.
