News County councilors hope to address highway conditions with MTO SHARE ON: Smith Autumn, contributor, Thursday, Jan. 15th, 2015 The issue of the conditions on provincial highways in Haliburton County is hoping to be taken to the Ministry of Transportation. Warden Murray Fearrey brought up the issue of winter maintenance at yesterday’s roads committee meeting. He said a lot of people aren’t happy and they should go to MTO with other counties in the area to address the issue. They also heard from local MPP Laurie Scott who suggested they make the request for a meeting. Councilors agreed, and are moving forward with a meeting request to discuss winter maintenance on provincial highways. Warden Murray Fearrey says they’re hoping to be able to set a meeting with the Minister in February at the Good Roads Conference.
