Three new COVID-19 cases reported in Haliburton by Health Unit

COVID-19 cases continue to be on the rise in Haliburton County.

Another three cases were reported Wednesday by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR). HKPR has now reported 11 new novel coronavirus cases locally since March 11th. Up until that point, our region has gone over a month with no new cases.

There have been a total of 61 cases of the virus reported in Haliburton with 10 now considered active.

For the second day in a row, the N501Y mutation has been confirmed in a positive test. The mutation is found in some variants of concern. It’s the second case HKPR has reported to have found the mutation in.
