Haliburton getting about $3-M in joint infrastructure funding

Haliburton is getting almost $3 million in joint funding to support local community infrastructure projects in the county.

The provincial, federal and partner funding for eight projects will flow through the Community, Culture & Recreation stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

The money is directed towards four local projects to help deliver vital services for communities, foster greater social inclusion and improve the quality of life for residents.

The projects include upgrading the Haliburton County Rail Trail Corridor, renovating the Kinark Outdoor Centre, improving accessibility at the Minden Curling Club, the Minden Library/Cultural Centre, the Lochlin Community Centre and Irondale Community Centres, as well as rehabilitating the Rotary Beach Park.

The four projects will receive a total of $2,953,426 in joint funding from this stream.
