Over half of Haliburton residents 12+ with 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

The local health unit reported three new cases of COVID-19 and four recoveries in the County of Haliburton on Monday.

The county now stands at eight active cases including three previously reported cases screening positive for a variant of concern. 

21 cases were reported in the rest of the district today, 11 in Northumberland and ten in Kawartha Lakes. 

Over the last seven days, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit administered a total of 3,875 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine district-wide.

As of Monday, more than 55 percent of the adult population in Haliburton have received their first shot of a vaccine.

That includes over 60 percent of those 80 and over, 60 percent of those 45 to 64 and over 80 percent of those 65 to 79 years old in our county.
