Director of Education responds to Hal High students

Director of Education with the Trillium Lakelands District School Board has responded to Hal High students. After turning to Facebook to rally together, a few students, teachers and parents sent tweets and emails to Larry Hope protesting the transfer of the school’s vice principal, Mr. Wood. Hope’s response was the same for each message he received, and it came in the form of an email. Below is a copy of the email he sent:

“Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. It is important to know that the needs of all TLDSB schools are taken into consideration by the school board throughout the year and mid-year transfers of administrators are not uncommon. In fact, there are several transfers of administrators occurring in TLDSB at the present time. Our senior administration place principals and vice principals where their strengths can best be utilized to support a school. “

The school board has said Mr. Wood is being transferred to Ridgewood Public School in Coboconk. Through the Facebook group created by one of the students, a walk out is planned for Monday February 2 to protest Mr. Wood’s transfer.
