Employers in Haliburton County are being encouraged to apply for funding to hire a student this summer. MP Barry Devolin’s office sent out the reminder that the deadline to apply is on Friday. Small businesses and public sector employers can apply to receive up to 50 per cent of wage costs covered. Not-for-profit organizations can get up to 100 per cent of the costs funded. The employee has to be between the age of 15 to 30 and they would work full time for the summer before they go back to school in the fall. For more information and to apply, click here.
