A meeting with MTO and Carillion about winter road conditions had a positive outcome says Haliburton County Warden Murray Fearrey. He says Carillion, who performs the maintenance, agreed to add an extra truck and change the route so trucks travel east on Highway 118 first to give better service on Dover Hill. They’ll also be installing a camera on Dover Hill to monitor the conditions. Fearrey says MTO agreed to send council the status of cars on 118 so they have a better idea of the number of travellers on the road. Fearrey says overall, the representatives of MTO and Carillion were very cooperative.
