Councilors in Haliburton County unanimously agree to stand firm in the ‘Unwind Local’ marketing campaign. Director of Tourism Amanda Virtanen launched the campaign two weeks ago and has received some negative feedback that the slogan is grammatically incorrect, saying it makes the county look like hicks. Councilors didn’t agree and thought the video was perfect for the target market and fit with the ‘shop local’ campaign that’s been successful across the province. They voted to support the video as it was originally presented and keep the ‘Unwind local’ slogan.
