OPP’s Haliburton Highlands Detachment says it’s received reports on about a dozen car thefts in the last month. OPP adds that all incidents are under investigation and there is no concern for public safety. However, police do want to make the public aware of these incidents. Some ways to keep your possessions safe, police say, include installing video surveillance at various locations and adding an alarm system as well as motion sensor lights. If you have information or video surveillance that may assist in these investigations, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
