Eye exams for elderly and teens being offered once again

You’ll soon be able to go for an eye exam again if you’re covered by OHIP.
The Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ministry of Health have agreed to head back to the bargaining table with the OAO pausing its job action as of Tuesday.
That means people in Ontario who are 19 and under, 65 and older, and others who have specific health conditions can get their annual eye exams done as well as other services.
The exams and other services covered by the province’s health plan were dropped by optometrists on September 1st after talks over how much the province would reimburse the doctors for their services stalled.
It’s expected the negotiations will get started again soon.
