Two charged after crashing stolen car

The Haliburton Highlands OPP has laid charges against two Dysart et al residents who allegedly stole a car and rolled it over along Essonville Line in Highlands East.

Just before 8 AM Tuesday, Constable Michael Melnychuk says officers responded to a call about a single-car crash. They arrived alongside the Haliburton County Paramedic Services and the Highlands East Volunteer Fire Department. The two occupants fled before first responders got there.

The vehicle which had rolled over had been reported stolen from the Greater Toronto Area.

The forces’ emergency response team and K9 unit were called in to locate the duo. They were later found and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
