UPDATED: Police identify deceased in Minden Hills collision

UPDATED Apr. 8 9:27 a.m.: Police have identified the deceased as 79-year-old Victor Disik and 77-year-old Sonya Holliday-Rhodes of Minden.

Two people are dead and a third person seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash in Minden Hills.

Haliburton Highlands OPP says a pick-up truck and two cars collided on County Road 121, south of Gelert Road, sometime before 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

The driver and passenger of one vehicle were taken to a local hospital, where both were pronounced deceased.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries, and the two occupants of the third vehicle did not report any injuries, according to police.

County Road 121 was closed for about 10 hours as police investigated, and has since reopened.
