Three planned power outages scheduled for County of Haliburton

Hydro One is investing to improve reliability for residents and businesses in the County of Haliburton.

There will be planned power outages this month while upgrades are made to the area’s infrastructure and critical forestry maintenance.

Two power outages will happen while arborists undertake forestry maintenance by removing two large, dead trees along Hwy. 35.

The first outage will happen on June 20 from 8 AM until noon, affecting around 460 people in the Pine Springs area. Another planned outage will happen the next day during the same timeframe, affecting 1,048 people in the Carnavron area.

Three poles will be replaced and a smart switch will be installed the week after. Hydro officials explain the switch can be operated remotely to reduce the number of people affected by power outages.

A planned outage will happen on June 26 from 8 AM until noon while the work is done. It will affect 3,900 people from Maple Lake to Fort Irwin and north to Kennisis Lake.
