TLDSB swears in new student trustee

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) has a new student trustee.

Logan MacInnis, a grade 11 student at Fenelon Falls Secondary School, will represent students to the administration over the next two years.

“To be elected into the role of student trustee means I get to advocate on behalf of the student voice to help meet their needs and allow them to have the best educational experience possible without any barriers,” says MacInnis in a statement. “I will make it my mission to ensure that all students have the resources they need to not just do well in school, but excel at it, through encouraging more academic support, mental health options, and more exposure to their true passions.”

The board says MacInnis will work with the G7 Student Senate, which is made up of one student from each high school in the area, on initiatives such as the Great Grain Challenge, the Menstrual Equity Challenge, and the board’s Climate Change Action Plan. He was sworn in at the TLDSB board meeting last month.
