Highland Wood Long-Term Care has been placed in a COVID-19 outbreak by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR).
Officials with Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) say there are two confirmed cases with the outbreak. Six Highland Wood residents have been placed in isolation.
As well, officials say the home is now closed to any further admission and visitors, including volunteers. However, they say essential caregivers are allowed in. All outings have been canceled unless it’s for a medical appointment.
Now that the home is in outbreak, officials say enhanced cleaning is underway,
Services at the Haliburton Hospital are not affected by the outbreak.
