Tim Horton’s Smile Cookies to Benefit Walkabout Farm

The Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie campaign continues in our region. It runs until May 7 and raises money for local charities and community groups.

The Minden and Haliburton locations will give 100 percent of the proceeds from the cookies to Walkabout Farm Therapeutic.

On its website, the organization described itself as “a fully inclusive therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning and youth outreach initiative, designated for children and adults with unique considerations, socioeconomic isolation, mental health concerns and those abled differently.”

Founding Executive Director Jennifer Semach says some of their clients do have access to funding but otherwise their services are free.

She adds the money will help cover some of their operational costs since they do not charge anyone to use their services. “We are so fortunate Tim Horton’s agreed to make Walkabout Farm the recipients of this amazing fundraising initiative. This is amazing.”

The cookies cost only $1.50 plus tax.
