The Link is Haliburton County Development Corporation’s newest project

The Haliburton County Development Corporation (HCDC) has moved from its locations on Highland Street along with the Business Incubator on Mountain Streets to one new location on County Road 21.

This new location is home to “The Link”, a place officials say is for new and existing entrepreneurs to find the resources they need to start, sustain, relocate, and grow. They add the space is designed to directly support business owners and entrepreneurial leaders across Haliburton County.

Heather Reid is the Program and Operations Coordinator and says the initiative involves a number of key partners. “We are working with the county, Haliburton Economic Development, and the Chamber of Commerce to bring business services into one location. That was a major driver in us moving our offices. We are here to help develop, expand, and to provide connections between businesses.” She adds it is often difficult for small business owners to connect with others. “We really want to enhance that type of offering in our community.”

Link coordinator Kat Schouter says they are providing three important business functions that came out of her research with local businesses. “There is a co-working space for folks to have access to the internet, we offer business services through HCDC and our community partners, and we also run business networking events to learn new skills and connect with other business owners.” There is a charge for the co-working space, but all other services offered at The Link are free of charge she added.

The Link held their grand opening yesterday. For inquiries on rentable offices, meeting rooms, and hot desks call 705-457-3555 or email  [email protected].
