An organization that promotes tourism in our region hopes those in the business will attend an event to hear more about some of its projects.
The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization (OHTO) is hosting its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17. It’s from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and it’s being conducted virtually, through Zoom.
OHTO says tourism operators and stakeholders can attend, whether they’re members of the organization or not.
At the event, attendees will learn more about OHTO’s “Locally Inspired” campaign, which highlights the work of some local tourism ambassadors.
People can also hear about the Wander Sustainably program, which is about “providing long-term environmental, socio-cultural and economic benefits to the community.”
The OHTO promotes tourism in a large portion of eastern Ontario, including Haliburton and Renfrew counties, as well as portions of Hastings County.
