Haliburton Bus Lines holding “stuff a bus” events for food bank

A local bus provider is hoping to “stuff a bus,” or several, with goods for the Haliburton 4Cs Food Bank.

Kourtney Hofkamp with Haliburton Bus Lines says they’ll park a mini school bus outside three stores over the coming weeks to collect food and toy donations from generous shoppers.

  • Haliburton Foodland, Nov. 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Minden Canadian Tire, Nov. 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Todd’s Your Independent Grocer, Nov. 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Hofkamp says they’re looking for canned goods and boxed food, as well as toys for small school-aged children. She says those will go to the food bank for distribution to those in need ahead of the holiday season.

Hofkamp adds that they hope to have flyers to hand out outside the stores the day of each collection.
