Veronica Nelson now permanent HHHS lead

Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) has a new full-time head.

Veronica Nelson has officially accepted the role of President and CEO, after being appointed as interim leader in June. She takes over the role from Carolyn Plummer, who went on medical leave the same month.

“For the last 20 years, I have been part of HHHS in various capacities and have seen firsthand the impact this health organization has on the community, its residents and staff,” says Nelson. “I feel privileged to be entrusted with this responsibility. In the time that I have been part of the HHHS team, I have been humbled, inspired, and amazed by the staff, physicians, volunteers and board members. I cannot wait to continue this work alongside each of them.”

Agency officials say Nelson has been instrumental in developing and implementing HHHS’ new strategic plan, which they say will shape the coming decades of the organization.
