The Haliburton County Snowmobile Association (HCSA) has chosen Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) as its charity of the year.
The association says for every hour of grooming time on the Rail Trail, it will donate one dollar towards HHHS’ purchase of a doppler, which measures blood flow for diabetes care.
Officials add the Rail Trail, which is the HCSA’s busiest route, will feature a trail groomer towing a billboard to spread awareness.
This is the second year in a row the association has chosen HHHS, and the fourth year it’s supported a local charity. It previously supported the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation and the Minden Food Bank.
