Hundreds of local students still lack updated vaccination records ahead of Feb. 5 deadline

It’s the last call for local students to get their vaccination records up to date.

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit says students have until Feb. 5 to update their record with the health unit without risking suspension.

To attend school in Ontario, children aged four to 17 need to be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, chickenpox, and meningococcal disease—or have a valid exemption.

According to HKPR officials, 855 students in the health unit’s region have yet to provide a vaccination record or exemption, with 70 of them in Haliburton County.

You can update a vaccination record online, by calling 1-866-888-4577 x 1507, faxing 905-885-5352, or emailing [email protected].
