Police have arrested one person and seized several firearms in Dysart et al.
According to Haliburton Highlands OPP, officers responded to a disturbance in the municipality around 10:39 p.m. on Saturday. Officials say after an investigation, they located and arrested a person “without incident,” seizing several firearms.
They’re being charged with three counts each for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, and of a firearm obtained by crime, as well as careless storage of a firearm.
The accused was held for a bail hearing, and their identity is being withheld by police to protect the victim. Officials ask anyone with information on the incident to call Haliburton Highlands OPP at 705-286-1431.
