Work is continuing on the cell gap project to better increase connectivity across Haliburton County and the surrounding area.
Officials say the County has invested nearly $442 thousand dollars, and that more than $30 million dollars worth of infrastructure improvements are being made locally.
According to officials, 21 cell towers have already been upgraded, six of the 29 planned new sites are in service…and two more sites are scheduled to come online this year.
Officials say the other 21 sites will be completed in 2026.
The local project is part of a $300 million dollar investment being made to improve cell coverage across Eastern Ontario.
