The Algonquin Highlands Fire Services is in the midst of a recruitment drive.
Officials say the service is currently recruiting volunteer firefighters at all three of its stations, including the fire halls in Stanhope, Dorset and Oxtongue Lake.
“Becoming a volunteer firefighter means learning new skills, meeting new people, and helping to protect your community. And, despite the title, members are compensated for their time,” stated a post on the department’s social media.
