Small fire north of White Boundary Road extinguished

The small wildfire 100 metres north of White Boundary Road on the edge of Haliburton County has been put out.

That’s according to officials with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, who say the blaze, located about 2.5 km west of White Lake, reached 0.4 hectares before being contained.

The fire popped up on the Ministry’s Fire Information Map shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 17), and took a little over 24 hours to extinguish.

A total fire ban remains in effect for all of Haliburton County.
