Algonquin Highlands council to discuss Fletcher Lake Landing rehab project

Algonquin Highlands council has another costly decision to make.

This time, it’s regarding the rehabilitation of the Fletcher Lake Landing.

According to officials, Township staff have worked with engineers to develop a design with the intent of ensuring the most cost effective solution is implemented.

At a meeting on July 16, council will be presented with three options ranging from $382,000 to $458,000.

According to a staff report, the recommended option, the cheapest of the three, would see the replacement of the existing failed retaining wall with a smaller retaining wall and 8-foot wide, by 16 foot long dock.

A total of $381,000 was allocated for the project in the township’s 2026 budget.

Council meets to discuss the topic at 9 a.m.
