Local Initiatives Program chance for five thousand dollars for not-for-profits

The Haliburton County Development Corporation is giving local not-for-profits the chance to apply for some funds. It’s the Local Initiatives Program that can give an organization up to five thousand dollars. Assistant Director, Patti Tallman explains what the program is about.

She says they usually have about 20 to 30 organizations apply, and depending on how much is being asked, they can approve about 15 of them. However, there are requirements for what things the money will be used for. Tallman explains what those are:

Tallman explains that it has to be for something that is different or unique for the organization, not for general operating costs, or for something they always do.

She explains what organizations can do to be successful:
