Local MPP Laurie Scott will be hearing recommendations from the Roundtable on Violence Against Women soon. She’s the vice chair of the committee that is carrying out the action plan called It’s Never Okay, with the goal to end violence against women in Ontario.
The Roundtable is made up of people from over 20 organizations with an expertise in preventing and responding to sexual violence and harassment. The inaugural meeting was yesterday.
With the information the committee gets from this Roundtable, and other experts, a final report is planned to be out at the end of the year.
