A recent report from the Auditor General has confirmed what a lot of people in Haliburton County have known for a long time. Local MPP Laurie Scott explains:

The Ontario PC Caucus asked the Auditor General to look into the winter maintenance program in Ontario. Scott says it all started when the Ministry made some changes in 2009.

Scott has been working on the issue locally, by meeting with the MTO and the company that performs the maintenance back in January. She was happy with that outcome, but she says it’s about more than that:

In a statement, Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca said several of the auditor general’s recommendations will be in place by the start of next winter.
