CARP introducing co-housing to Haliburton County at AGM

The annual general meeting for our local CARP chapter is happening this weekend and President Bob Stinson says they’ll finally be rolling out a project they’ve been working on for a few years. It’s called co-housing, and Stinson explains what it’s about:

Each house also has a ‘House Mom’ to help with cooking, cleaning, errands, or groceries, but the seniors are totally independent. Stinson explains why something like this is needed in our community:

Each person has equity in the home so they can sell their portion or family can inherit it. Stinson says they found a piece of property that they’re ready to present to potential buyers at this weekend’s meeting.

At Sunday’s meeting they’ll be giving details about the project and offering the units to anyone interested in buying one. The meeting is at the Haliburton Legion at 12, it’s open to the public and is fifteen dollars to attend.
