The Township of Algonquin Highlands has opened water to the public at the Stanhope Airport. A water softener and fine filtration was added when the water system was upgraded.
The work was done following a lot of discussions about public access water. Council made the commitment to open the tap at the airport when the Highway 118 spring was closed last fall because the MOE deemed it unsafe to drink.
The Township has notified residents that the tap at the airport will also follow provincial regulations to be tested on an ongoing basis.
