A new initiative is moving forward to make some improvements to the Haliburton Village skate park.

Pasi Posti is a local resident and business owner who’s done a lot of work in skateboarding in the past. He went to council yesterday suggesting the improvements and offered to be the point person on the project.

Councilors agreed the money for the project should be raised in collaboration with the public. To start, they’ll be ordering some custom skateboard decks to sell and start raising money.

Posti and the municipality’s recreation committee will be meeting to discuss specific additions and improvements to the park.
