Grant comes in low, Minden taps into reserves to fund project

A grant to build an outdoor rink and picnic shelter at the Minden Community Centre came in a little less than expected.

Minden’s Director of Community Services, Mark Coleman applied for a 15 thousand dollar grant to fund some of the project. However, they recently got notice that the grant is only giving five thousand dollars.

Councilors made the decision that in order for the project to go forward, they’ll take ten thousand dollars from the Community Services reserves to complete the rest of the project.
