SIRCH program helps prepare children for kindergarten

SIRCH Community Services has opened registration for the School’s Cool program this summer. It’s a six week program for children ages three to five, and coordinator Krista Patterson explains what it is:

Patterson says it’s a play-based program where kids learn social, math and self-help skills. Based on the success they’ve had in previous years, she says the program is a huge benefit.

The program has one instructor to every eight children, which Patterson explains is so they can give the kids the attention they deserve.

She talks about some of the things she’s noticed with students in previous years:

The program starts July 6 and there are subsidies available to help offset the 140 dollar cost. There are only 22 spots available and it’s running in Minden and Haliburton.

You can register by contacting Krista at 705-457-1742 or emailing [email protected].
