Hal High Ecoschool Committee hands over petition with over 200 signatures

Environment Haliburton received a petition with nearly half of the high school’s population on it. It’s for the Blue Dot Movement which is campaigning for the Right to a Healthy Environment to be included on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Students Krista Duncan and Alex Litwin started the Ecoschool Committee at Hal High and they collected the signatures.

The Blue Dot Movement is making its way through Haliburton County this summer collecting signatures. Their plan is to present the petitions to local government in the fall and ask for their support as the petitions make their way to the provincial and federal governments.
