Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating a death that happened in Kawartha Lakes. On June 1, a man was being held at the Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment when he fell and was injured. He was taken to Ross memorial for treatment, and returned to the detachment a couple hours later. He was released unconditionally the morning.
OPP learned that later that day after he was released, the man was taken to hospital by EMS where he died. Three investigators and one forensic investigator are looking into the incident.
