Ontario’s Learn to Fish program ready for summer

Ontario’s Learn to Fish program is ready for the summer. This is the third year the province has held this program which is a free, two-hour program combining a practical teaching session with an hour of supervised, hands-on fishing. Program Coordinator Jeff Brown says where the programs is being held and how people can get involved.

Aspiring anglers will learn fishing basics such as tying knots, knowing what kind of fish is on the end of the line and the rules and safety guidelines to follow. This year, there will also be a mobile unit travelling across the province to reach more people to introduce them to fishing.
