Family Fishing Week kicks off tomorrow in Ontario, meaning we can fish without a license until July 12. For most of Haliburton County and surrounding areas, we fall under zone 15 and you can find the regulations by clicking here.

While you can fish for free this week, you must follow the conservation license limits. This means a reduced catch and possession. When looking at the regulations, look for the code ‘C’ to find out how many fish you’re allowed to keep. Under the conservation license, you’re not allowed to keep muskie, Atlantic salmon and aurora trout.
